School Information
The Christian ethos of Longhoughton First School, as a Church of England school, is shown we believe, in the daily life of the school. This is reflected by the way we relate to and work with our pupils and provide a positive, caring environment where each individual can fulfil their true potential, no matter how short a time they are in the school. Our aim is to help the pupils start to form the values that will help them make moral choices throughout their lives. We respect and value the various beliefs of the children and parents and also their diverse backgrounds.
We aim to provide a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum, based upon the National Curriculum that will take account of the widely differing skills and abilities of the children in our care, at all their various stages of development.
The school has a roll of approximately 130 children, with classes of mixed ability, composed of both boys and girls.
Children are admitted, as far as possible, at the beginning of the school year in which they are aged five (school year - 1st September until 31st August).
