Please note that Africa class has changed its name to Brazil class as of September 2009.
Last half term Africa class learnt about Festivals of Light around the world. We celebrated the Hindu festival of Divali in November making clay diva lights, Divali cards, peacocks and mendhi hand patterns. We then celebrated Hanukkah, the Jewish festival painting menorahs and eating doughnuts! We also looked at the Christian celebration of Christmas reading the nativity story and making Christingles, celebrating the birth of Jesus.
We read lots of traditional stories including Goldilocks and the 3 Bears and designed new chairs for baby Bear out of junk modelling.
We visited the Forest School and made up our own stories......
